Apr 21: Google Maps

OK, they are pretty cool, I like the old google maps, you can do a nice virtual holiday from your desk. Sad I know, but you can get to see some sights, that well, you might never have gotten around to seeing. The other thing I like about good maps, is that it can plan/tell you how to get from A to B. Not always the best route, but a route none the less.

So I decided how does Google tell me how to get from London to the lovely city of Brussels, I'm sure it would give pretty much the same results if I was to go to Paris or any other city in Europe as I would always have to cross the channel somewhere. So, How does Google find Calais from London? Well simple really, Turn left at Dover, and after swiming/driving/ I don't know, you will get to Calais after 26Miles (that'll be ~41Km Google hasn't realised that the UK has gone metric like the rest of Europe)

Anyway, for you, I have taken a snap shot of this famous crossing that only Google has found. Yes, that mystery bridge.

There you go, easy when you know. MInd. I still prefer the good old Eurostar.

Mar 8: While on a train yesterday

I've joined the commuting crowd going from London to where I work. I take a train to get there, not a bad service I have to add, with a train every 12 mins there abouts. I tend to target on train, if I miss that one, I can catch the next one safely in the knowledge that I will still be on time at the office.

Anyway, being on these trains, one starts to notice odd and strange things, like signage, yes, signs that point you in the wrong direction. Not only is the signage out, but the toilets are in a rather odd place. In most trains I've been on, the toilets are located away from the seats at the end of the carriage. In these trains they are located amongst the seating, very odd indeed. Back to that confusing signage. Not only are the toilets amongst the but the signs telling you where they are are all wrong. Check out the image below...

There you go, I bet the right authorities have been notified but due to not having enough money, they can't be bothered to change it.

Mar 1: Funny Clouds

On the way to work this morning, I had a terrible feeling of being watched. Not watched by the usual CCTV cameras, to which I know at least 50 or more will have watched me go from my home, to the underground, back up, through the train station and onto a train to work. This was bigger, something celestial was keeping and eye on me. I could think what it was, till I saw it, yep, there it was, a lone cloud in the sky watching me as a I was almost at the office.. I managed to capture this on camera... See for yourself... Most remarcable.

Tis lookin' back at ya....

Dec 7: New Security Measures required

After an appalling incident on an internal flight in the US, where a woman who had a serious problem with flatulence wanted to hid the problem by lighting matches. Now, I know farts can be a bit wiffy, but lighting a match isn't the best of ideas if you have a methane problem, using channel 5 or something like that may have been a wiser option.
Needles to say, all the passengers got a tad worried when they didn't smell the fart, but the smell of sulphur. The plane was forced to land all passengers were searched for explosives, obviously, non were found and the poor woman was a tad embarrassed.

She had "no malicious intent but had struck matches which is against [Transport Security Administration] rules," Ms Lowrance said.

The unidentified woman had an unspecified medical condition, Associated Press news agency said.

She was carrying safety matches, which the TSA allows in carry-on luggage.

The matches are not allowed to be struck, however.
So, the new security measure now, as this has been identified as a potential terrorist threat.
The scenario is as follows.

A***: Hey A___ (name hidden for anonymity reasons) l, you must eat two of those gallon cans of beans, all of them?
A____: But But A** I don't like beans, they make me fart!
A***: That is the master plan! You eat the beans, get on a plane with a box of safety matches, when the plane is about to take off, you let rip, and light a match, If you don't go, by the powers of Allah, the infidels will die from that awful smell you make.
A___: Wow A**
that is a cool plan, but they don't smell that bad?!

In respones to this risk, all passengers will be required to go via a Fartarium, to let rip safely before the plane leaves.

Stop press:
Fartarium in local airport blows up, some passenger went in with a lighted cigarette!

Nov 1: Low Tree

In the UK, the land of safety madness and wonderful warnings. Today, while I was out, yes I do go out from time to time. So I had a good giggle when I saw this sign, advising Bus drivers to be aware that there may be low trees, Having a look at the trees, I think the person who printed these signs didn't have a look at the trees in question...

There you go, It's a small tree!
