Here we go again, delusions of grandeur and self-righteousness.
Yesterday we saw something that Blair has never experianced while he has been prime minister, that is losing a vote in the pariament.
He didn't listen to his own home secratary Charles Clark who told him that they would likely lose the vote if he stuck to the 90 days, But Blair the Righteous new better, he new his people, he knows his flock who will follow him as he, Tony Blair is the chosen one and all ye who follow him will be shown the light. Hail ye Tony. But the problem Tony, is that there is a real world out here, a world where even the people who you are professing to be doing this law for don't even agree with you. in fact I would even say, Your the one out of touch with the real world.
As far as I'm concerned, Tony, My MP doesn't have to justify herself for her reason for voting against you, you couldn't even justify yourself to Parliament. You couldn't even bring yourself to use your own arguments. You just parrated the arguments of a very questionable Metropolitan Police for ( infact you can read the 'Compelling" evidence
here )
One of the 'safe guards' for the 90 days was the a judge would be able to review the evidence once a week
However, what if the Police are not forwidth with this 'evidence' and will provide them with lets say, Hunch evidence? have the Police been known to do this in the past? By 'eck they have and have cost the tax payer millions of reviews, investigations etc, to name a few of these cases,
Birmingham 6, Guildford 4 (of the top of my head) what's to stop them doing it again? Nothing.
So Tony, You win some you lose some, you had better get used to the losing more now.
